Vocals hurt...

As much as I like the way Hackett has revisited the music, I just can't stand the vocals. Gabriel and Collins are tough acts to follow and what I heard here is a pale rendition of the originals, with that uncomfortable feeling of bad copycats... I wish Hackett and the other Genesis members could have made it one last time on a stage together. That album is not an alternative to that. Wish I'd liked it.

Revisiting again

This is yet another revisit of good old Genesis, back when the group was truly a progressive band. Still, Hackett and his band does it again, allowing a very enjoyable trip in revisiting classics such as "Dancing with the moonlit Knight" and some more rare pieces like "Horizon". Each piece is close to the original but Hackett adds some nice touch every now and then, making the listening experience a delight. Highly recommended.

A listening pleasure

Steve Hackett has rejuvinated and brought back to life many classics on Genesis Revisited 2. Songs like the Lamia and the Chamber stand alone as beautiful pieces of music, without the need of the Lamb aroud it. The Musical Box has been brought back to life and I hope it brings a new generation to appreciate the best of what Genesis could do. Steve Hackett is an amazing artist and in the past three years, from Live Rails to Beyond and now Revisited, his creative output and talent is outstanding.

His arrival in the group's lineup at the start of 1971, replacing original guitarist Anthony Phillips, provided the group with the last ingredient that it needed for success. In the years since, while Phil Collins may have enjoyed pop/rock stardom and an acting...
