I'm not hungry anymore - I've had Brunch with a Vengeance

More or Les's 3rd LP is a solid release from one of T-dot's finest. On this outing he's managed to bring some serious heat on some definitely well-constructed tracks (like Nice Guys Too, featuring long-time collaborators like Wordburglar and Timbuktu, fellow Hip Hop Karaoke host Abdominal, and the HHK regular who has developed his own following in the Toronto scene, The Mighty Rhino) while still managing to keep his signature playfulness on others (like Gold Digger, Pt. 3...which can't really be described without getting old-school heads thinking of a certain old Biz Markie track). The album features some solid guest performances from a number of notable names in the underground and Canadian hip hop scenes, all meshing well with Les's laid-back and complex flow. The stand-out track on the album, though, is definitely Get Back, featuring the aforementioned Rhino - with complex lyrics, solid production, and sheer fierceness on the mic, these two sound like they are the Ken and Ryu of hip-hop - and are ready to take on all suckers. All in all, this album is solid on all levels, and if you've been starving for good hip hop, make sure you get Brunch with a Vengeance!
