Album Review

Highlighted by the perennial "Christmas in Dixie," Alabama Christmas is a collection of holiday tunes counting among one of Alabama's strongest records, seasonal or otherwise; although at times the material is overly sappy. There's no mistaking the group's affection for the project, and cuts like "Happy Holidays," "Tennessee Christmas," and "A Candle in the Window" are all fine additions to the contemporary country Yuletide canon.

The iTunes Review on this page is not for this Album

I came to iTunes hoping to find/purchase a copy of the Alabama Christmas Album, which I assume is Volume 1, based on this one being Volume 2. All of the songs mentioned in the review at the top of this page however, are not from this album, but from Alabama Christmas, the one that I was looking for, which is apparently unavailable on iTunes. Hopefully someone at iTunes will recognize the error and remove their inappropriate review and replace it with another, or get the actual Alabama Christmas Album available and attach the review to it. I want to find a digital copy of songs like "Christmas in Dixie", "Tennessee Christmas" and, of course, "Thistlehair, the Christmas Bear" which are much beloved songs in my home, to replace my 25 year old cassette which has been completely worn out from being played so much! If you can find a copy of THAT CD, Buy It!

Alabama Christmas

Am enjoying the album thoroughly but I too was looking for the old one.

Volume 1????

Where's Thistlehair??? the review is for volume 1, but the album listed is volume 2

Please make available volume 1, its by far THE best christmas album out there and HARD to find :)

Before Alabama, bands were usually relegated to a supporting role in country music. In the first part of the century, bands were popular with audiences across the country, but as recordings became available, nearly every popular recording artist was a vocalist, not a group. Alabama was the group that made country bands popular again. Emerging in the late '70s, the band had roots in both country and rock; in fact, many of Alabama's musical concepts, particularly the idea of a performing band, owed...
