Editors’ Notes

A milestone record of the folk-rock movement, CSN’s second album together (and their first with Y) was a virtual how-to for flower children entering adulthood in the ‘70s. It offers sweetly harmonised instruction on how to embrace domesticity (“Our House”), raise kids (“Teach Your Children”) and steer clear of trouble without selling out (“Almost Cut My Hair”). But Déjà Vu’s great power is its enigmatic familiarity, which carries Aquarian Age ideals into a new era (“Woodstock”, “Carry On”).

Top five of all time

This is an album I listen to all the time though I hardly ever start out looking for it, it just seems to be there when I need it. From Crosby's manic anthem "Almost Cut My Hair", to the haunting 4 + 20, I can't imagine a someone who can't take something away from this album. Young's Helpless is one of the crowning achievements in an incredible career.

Pure, Raw & undivided talent

This album is one of the best albums ever recorded, the chemistry here is undeniable. Neil only made this band better - this album was 4 geniuses playing off each other. Graham Nash & David Crosby's beautiful harmonies, their different musical styles coming together and creating something gorgeous. Stephen Stills being the incredible guitarist is a fine addition in the album, and. Neil's stripped vocals and guitar make this album all work out perfectly. Greg Reeves and Dallas Taylor fit the bill perfectly too. One that I'll never get tired of listening to on vinyl. Long live CSNY

The musical partnership of David Crosby (born August 14, 1941), Stephen Stills (born January 3, 1945), and Graham Nash (born February 2, 1942), with and without Neil Young (born November 12, 1945), was not only one of the most successful touring and recording acts of the late '60s, '70s, and early '80s -- with the colorful, contrasting nature of the members' characters and their connection to the political and cultural upheavals of the time -- it was arguably the only American-based band to approach...
