No Idiots Here!!

When Michael Mayer first approached Green Day with the idea of bringing American Idiot to the stage, I can't imagine he had any idea the kind of magic he was making. I saw the first two previews at the Berkeley Rep Theatre and I was simply blown away by the sounds, the visuals, the vocals, the arrangements, the performances... and now it sounds even better! With the show opening on Broadway today, you can bet your @ss it's gonna make headlines this week. I think my favourite arrangements are actually those in the b-sides, like Favorite Son and Too Much Too Soon. They took those songs and just elevated them to a whole new level. Finally, I couldn't be happier that Green Day finally released their original version of "When It's Time", an American Idiot outtake that never even became a b-side, but is strong enough to be a hit single. A truly amazing song that deserved to see the light.

I was really worried when i heard that american idiot was becoming a musical, but now that i've heard the album i'm extremely happy! These guys have great voices and put reallyb emotion into every word! Go Green Day AND the cast of american idiot!!!!!!!

Though their music wasn't particularly innovative, they brought the sound of late-'70s punk to a new, younger generation with Dookie, their 1994 major-label debut. Dookie sold over ten million copies, paving the way for a string of multi-platinum...
