iTunes Review

Released just three years after the band’s official break-up, “The Blue Album” put The Beatles’ later-year tracks into one package (released simultaneously with “The Red Album”) featuring key songs from the group’s albums as well as stand-alone singles. With music that signified the group’s own development as well as the culture around them, this selection of material from albums such as Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road contains some of their most radical studio experiments and most loved songs.

Best compilation album ever

Doubtful there is anyone on earth who hasn't heard of them or heard their legacy of popular music, but this collection combined with the Red Album is the only way to understand them beyond the catchy riffs and imaginative orchestration.

The Beatles are a fascinating story: more than a pop group, they symbolized a generation and its lifecycle from innocent youth (Red Album) through teenage angst to social activism and even (dare I say) to adulthood. This compilation of the best songs from their worst times shows their true artistry, cleverness, innovation and maturity as it developed during their own personal growth and growth apart. Mystical "Strawberry Fields", confused "Hello, Goodbye", frustrated "Revolution" and regretful "Hey Jude" illustrate the spectrum of emotion the group went through personally and professionally in these years.

You need this album to remind you that life is a struggle, that friendships can fade mysteriously, and that when all is said and done, "All You Need is Love."

i hate the music today like all of the justin bieber and lady gaga the beatles are a million times better then any of them

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '60s

So much has been said and written about the Beatles -- and their story is so mythic in its sweep -- that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced more innovations into popular music than any other rock band of the 20th century. Moreover, they were among the few artists of any discipline that were simultaneously...
