Too funky

For those familiar with go-go (the D.C. variety), Chuck Brown needs no introduction. He is the "godfather" of the genre and, thirty years on, he is still going strong. Go-go is simply the funkiest music ever made, as demonstrated on tracks such as the classic "Bustin' Loose", "We Need Some Money" and "It Don't Mean A Thing" (still a staple of Chuck's live performances). A couple of the tracks found here are pre-go-go ("We The People" and "Blow Your Whistle") and provide examples of Chuck's early work with the Soul Searchers. If you're not yet hip to the sound of D.C. which was supposed to blow up in the 80s (but never did), it's time!
