Album Review

This teenage R&B singer hit the Top Ten late in 1994 with "I Wanna Be Down," a representative track from her solid debut album. Brandy knows her way around a hip-hop beat, layering tender-tough vocals over spare arrangements like a lower-key Janet Jackson or a more stripped-down Mary J. Blige. Good songs and crisp production make Brandy a moody, moving success.

fantastic debut

I just listened to this album after a few years and it still holds its weight.....from start to finish ...and to think she was a teenager when she did this....its sophistication and how she negotiates the lyrics givin them ltons of dimension is what makes this a classic....HIGHLY recommended...think she is the most underrated RnB artist out there......dont understand how her talent doesnt translate to sales....maybe more touring? i dont know but she rates up there as far as artists go ....Her album Human is also on constant rotation.....TO THIS DAY

Love her music

I just love her voice and music. I enjoyed discovering this old album. A ecouter absolument 😊

She scored the longest-running number one female duet in chart history (teamed with Monica on "The Boy Is Mine"), a testament to her mainstream appeal, and she spent several years as the title character on Moesha, the top-rated series on the fledgling UPN network during the late '90s. As she grew older, her music...
