Best album of '07

Wow, I was expecting a lot with this album, but I was BLOWN AWAY! I've been listening to the title track for months and didn't know if any other tracks could top it, but the album is loaded with fantastic beats, amazing lyrics...all in all, my fav album of the year. Enjoy money well spent.

I don't know why... But I like it.

I have always possessed a prominent dislike for hip-hop, rapping, and anything else along those lines. When compared to such instrumentally focused genres as prog-rock, and various forms of metal, it has never failed to bore and/or irritate me to my wits end. It's quite literally unlistenable. So when a friend directed me towards the title track of this album, I was, needless to say, very skeptical. Yet for some reason, one I still fail to comprehend, I find myself enjoying this music. For once, the lyrics seem meaningful, appealing to my literacy loving and poetic side, and some how, the electronic backgrounds don't infuriate me. I'd recommend this to any fan of the genre, and any one opposed to it as well. It really is a good album. Not the best music I've ever listened to, but undeniably good nonetheless.

Incredible Hip-hop/Rap

I've listened to a lot of underground hip-hop (Boom Bip, Doseone), but None Shall Pass is my favourite ablum of that genre. It's exactly the quality that anyone would expect of Aesop Rock.

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Building on the rapping style of eccentrics Kool Keith and Del the Funky Homosapien, Def Jux headliner Aesop Rock became one of the hottest MCs in the post-millennial underground. After a pair of self-released LPs (Appleseed, Music for Earthworms), he recorded Float for Mush in 2000. The former Ian Bavitz then issued a pair of singles — "Coma" and "Boom Box" — for another underground rap label paragon, Definitive Jux. His second full-length, 2001's Labor Days, earned positive reviews...
