Album Review

That Jamey Jasta is one busy gentleman. In addition to all his other projects (Hatebreed, running Stillborn Records, and up until recently, hosting Headbangers Ball, etc.) in 2008, he somehow found the time to unveil his latest musical venture, Kingdom of Sorrow, which turns out to be a collaboration with Crowbar/Down riffmeister Kirk Windstein. The group's self-titled debut is equal parts hardcore metal (the vocals) and sludge metal (the music), as evidenced by such pummeling, heavy-duty tracks as "Grieve a Lifetime," "Lead into Demise," and "Begging for the Truth." Consistently midtempo and burning with rage, Kingdom of Sorrow doesn't present very many musical surprises, but fans of Hatebreed, Crowbar, and Down should find it all very appealing.

Kingdom of AWESOME!

Holy crap, what a combo. Two geniuses (genii?) -Kirk Weinstein of Crowbar and Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed-pulling off the most amazing metal I've heard in a while. Heavy as f%#@ with a fair amount of melody courtesy of Kirk . Catchy, heavy, wicked indeed.

best album i have heard in a while.

An Absolute Metal Classic!

I would have to say that this album is the best release of 08' . Killer song writing and masterful heavy mixing by the mighty Zuess! . If your waiting for hatebreed's follow up release to supremacy, don't sweat it, just buy this album. An awesome effort by Jamey in the vocal department and Kirk for the super heavy guitar sound. A super shout out to Jamey on Icepick which i tunes should add to it's catalog.

Another side project from Crowbar's Kirk Windstein and Hatebreed's James Jasta, Kingdom of Sorrow was formed in 2005, when the two found they had a desire to pay homage to some of the heavier legends in the genre, and add their own individual stamp to the style. Working with producer Zeuss, the band completed their first album, Kingdom of Sorrow in 2007, and it was slated for release in February of 2008 by Relapse. Windstein and Jasta then assembled a band to take the Kingdom on tour, roping in Steve...
