iTunes Review

As a Canadian "Americana" roots singer/songwriter with a punk band on his résumé, Corb Lund operates outside of the usual musical traditions and exudes vitality. Cabin Fever shakes up folk and country music until it rocks; "Dig Gravedigger Dig" could be an ancient blues and field holler. "September" adds a wave of electric guitar that reminds one of a summer just passed, as Lund pines for a city girl while he's stuck with the responsibilities of the land. "Cows Around" recalls Texas swing and early C&W. With its laid-back western lope, "(You Ain't a Cowboy) If You Ain't Been Bucked Off" imparts its wisdom with a sense of realism. "The Gothest Girl I Can" hijacks a '50s vibe with a lyric that acknowledges the modern world. "One Left in the Chamber" is yet another album highlight, tucked near the end. "Wine Soaked Preacher" and "R-E-G-R-E-T" are exclusive bonus tracks. The deluxe edition adds acoustic versions of the album's tracks.

Corb does it again!!!

Finally I might get to hear wine soaked preacher live in Vancouver!!

5 stars...no question about it.

THIS is how you write a country album. Wow. Gravel Road radio has reviewed dozens of records (see our other reviews if you dont believe me) and this has to be the most consistently engaging country records we have heard in the last 2 years. We like cuts 2 3 4 5 10 and 12 the most, but they are all good. This man is putting Alberta ON THE MAP. Hooooo-weeee!

May you

Catch phrase of the year!
