Editors’ Notes

On his fifth album as Four Tet, Kieran Hebden hit a peak by paring his sound down to the essentials. His earlier outings joyously blended everything from folktronica to free jazz and dubstep, but while his eclectic nature remains, there’s a more meditative mood and minimalist approach at work here. Whether he’s unspooling gentle melodic lines or popping out a percolating, techno-tinged beat, Hebden crafts every moment on this album with intense precision.

Four Tets BEST

Great album, Four Tet goes techno in this one with a bit of a taste of his classic style on Pause and Rounds.
