iTunes Review

At first glance, Town Line looks more like a mini-album than an EP. But three of these songs are differently mixed versions of the single “Country Boy.” What’s more important is how naturally Aaron Lewis made the segue from fronting post-grunge outfit Staind to contemporary country balladeer. “The Story Never Ends” is a moving narrative wrapped in gorgeous pedal-steel tones. The song opens sounding like Lewis has been crooning heartfelt ballads his whole life — and maybe he has. The Springfield, Vermont native listened to folk music in his youth and grappled with growing up in a broken family — which fits perfectly alongside George Jones’ songwriting credo to “sing what you’ve lived.” Speaking of Jones, he turns up here with Charlie Daniels on the first version of “Country Boy,” another story-strong song with weed ‘n’ whiskey outlaw imagery and mentions of selling one’s soul to Satan replete with some “Devil Went Down to Georgia” fiddle swipes. “Vicious Circles” is another strong serenade on par with Music City’s finest and “Tangled Up In You” spotlights Lewis’ knack for penning a near-perfect love song.

Aaron has done it again... but in a whole new way.

I spent my highschool years listening to him (Staind) and escaping in his voice. He is so amazing, has a sound so unique it speaks to my soul. I can just close my eyes and listen to him and it is like meditation.

It is so good to hear some new stuff from him, it is deffinatly a different direction but it is so good! It is just as it should be.

Don't hesitate to buy this album! It is worth every penny and you wont regret it.

Thank you Aaron for giving us new material :)

Aaron Lewis is amazing, he never gets the credit he deserves.. This album proves his musical talent, music is all about talent and this by far has that. A long way from Staind's Dysfuction or Tormented album, but the true Staind and Aaron Lewis will appreciate this album.. 5 Stars!!

Story telling at it's BEST!

NO ONE! I mean no one these days quite tells a story like Staind's Aaron Lewis. This is a great little piece of work. Obviously it is a little different than his work in Staind, but boy can this guy write heartfelt touching music. The lyrics are second to none. So forget about Justin Bieber! Buy something worth your $. This is it. CHEERS Aaron! Hope to catch you in Toronto. (hint. hint.)

At the heart of Staind's loud, angst-laden music are the confessional lyrics and introspective personality of frontman Aaron Lewis. While other post-grunge bands were successful in mining the dark caverns once explored by Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, Lewis allowed his sensitivity to pour freely from his words and often pensive vocals, enabling Staind to strike a balance between heavy metal bombast and thoughtful, melodic rock. Born in Springfield, Vermont, Lewis listened to folk music as a child....
