On and Off, but worth the buy

Okay heres the deal. About half of the songs on this cd are worth the buy, they include: Untrust Us, Crimewave, Magic Spells, Courtship Dating, 1991, Vanished, and Reckless. I really enjoyed these songs...especially crimewave...its aweeesome. But the others, with the uber agressive beat and the kind of screamo-voice thing going on- they were much less enjoyable. Bottomline: With the current Itunes deal on this CD it makes sence to buy the whole album, but don't expect a complete disc.

Electro-Punk from Toronto

I saw this band in London, Ontario and it was a wild show! This duo pumps out intense energy and this album is a good buy Toronto electro indie is pumpin right now!

Artful.

Crystal Castles is a album not to be underestimated. The first thing you hear is glitching sounds, but they all come together into something melodic, hypnotic, nostalgic and beautiful. Through all the shouting, scratchy and barely recognisable lyrics you end up interpreting them in your own means applying them to your own life and experiences. It is like a diary, waiting to be written.

Biography

Formed: 2003 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Genre: Electronic

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Fusing low-res electronic noise and pop hooks so effortlessly that it can seem accidental, Crystal Castles began as producer/multi-instrumentalist Ethan Kath's solo project in late 2003. Kath got the moniker from the name of She-Ra's dwelling in the He-Man and Masters of the Universe cartoon series; it's also the name of a 1983 Atari video game, which is oddly appropriate, considering that one component of the band's distinctive sound comes from a keyboard modified with an Atari 5200 sound chip....
