If you're gonna buy only one Monkees album... this is the one!!!!

Every one of the first four albums (which all got #1 on Billboard) are represented with 6 or 7 songs each. As a matter of fact all their 60's albums are well represented on this collection. The only downfall of this collection.... it stops at 1970 with the "Changes" album, for some this is a (pardon the term) Blessing, for myself I like the songs from "Then & Now", "Pool It", and "Justus". I highly recommend buying this album, but also buy the singles "That Was Then, This Is Now", "Heart & Soul", "Every Step Of The Way" and "It's Not Too Late" all of which should be available here on iTunes.

I was born in the 80's thanks to MTV repeats of the Monkees series I consider myself blessed to have found such awesome music during my teenage faze and an eceltic taste in shows. I must admit Davy Jones is the most sexy and coolest man who ever lived. He will be dearly missed, we have lost a true icon. Monkeemania was 1 of the first CD collections I bought, and remains 1 of my favorites.

Monkee Fan!!

My dad loves oldies and always buys me old TV shows. I have a large collection of TV shows like Andy Griffith, Hogan's Heros, McHale's Navy, and well, anything you can think of really. For Christmas this year, my dad bought me The Monkees season 1 and I swear, my brother and I have watched each disc about 100 times. We recently vacationed in Florida and watched the monkees the entire 23 hours there and 22 hours back. Now that I have listened to all the music on the show, I've bought all the songs I like. Which happens to be pretty much all of em... (:

"Hey hey, we are the Monkees/You know we love to please/A manufactured image/With no philosophies." In 1968, the Monkees addressed their own reputation in the song "Ditty Diego (War Chant)," which summed up the bad rap they'd received in the music press since they first emerged in the summer of 1966. The Monkees were talented singers, musicians, and songwriters who made a handful of the finest pop singles of their day (as well as a few first-rate albums) and delivered exciting, entertaining live...
