Customer Reviews

Are You Fluent In Hip-Hop?

Torae is. One of the strongest debut discs I've ever heard. For an artist who came up under the influence of New York's Diplomats crew, Torae has none of their flaws and all of their hustle. With beats laced by the legendary DJ Premier, Black Milk, Khrysis, and Canadian-born sample-smith Marco Polo, this album has as much soul as it has rich depth. Personally, this is the first album I've been able to listen to from front-to-back in a VERY long time, where every track is solid from start to finish. Torae's pen-game and delivery are astonishing, as well as his beat selection. I'd love to give a review track by track, but I think that I could never do the album justice. Contender for Album of the Year 2008, and an excellent way to kick of a new year in hip-hop. 5 Stars

UNREAL!

There are too many tracks on here to pick just one as the best...it's rare to find a cd in hip-hop today with this amount of great joints, but in Daily Conversation's case, there are almost just as many that aren't worth your time. ALMOST! THe single, callin me, is bad. point blank. damn near everything else averages out to 4 stars. there it is. cop it.
