iTunes Review

This album is Mastered for iTunes. Delta Machine is the 13th studio album from the pioneering synth-pop and electro group Depeche Mode. Songwriter Martin Gore described it as a hybrid of Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion. The single “Heaven” confirms these comparisons—it’s full of shadowy, slow-drip synthesizer, buzzing guitar, and David Gahan’s primal vocal treatment. They’re elder statesmen of the genre; you can’t spell EDM without DM.

Depeche mode est revenu de loin avec cette chanson vibrante avec charisme le son electro Fidel a la grandeur de ce groupe quel ambiance ca augure bien pour le reste .trop hâte au mois de mars !!!

Strong return to form!

After the somewhat disappointing SOTU, I was holding out a great deal of hope for this album. Thankfully, DM didn't disappoint one bit. I can't help thinking the lead single, "Heaven," was a bit of a head-fake, since the rest of the album sounds nothing like it. DM has produced some of their strongest material in years. The second single, "Soothe My Soul," is a sure-fire stadium anthem that feels like "Personal Jesus Pt. 2." HUGE hook in this song. "Should be Higher" is arguably the best song they've recorded since "Precious" or earlier. First listen of the album was a bit iffy, but after repeat spins…I'm awestruck! Return to form for MODE!

Delta Machine

This is a wonderful album. I find DM is getting better with age. Didn't care for them when they started out (yes I'm 50 so I remember them back then) and began to enjoy their music with Black Celebration and onward. It does take a few listen to fully appreciate the new songs and yes they do sound like oldschool DM but isn't that why we love them? A great addition to your music collection.

Originally a product of Britain's new romantic movement, Depeche Mode went on to become the quintessential electropop band of the 1980s. One of the first acts to establish a musical identity based completely around the use of synthesizers, they began their existence as a bouncy dance-pop outfit but gradually developed a darker, more dramatic sound that ultimately positioned them as one of the most successful alternative bands of their era. The roots of Depeche Mode date to 1976, when Basildon, England-based...
