iTunes Editors' Notes

More Southern rock than Nashville pop, The Lacs’ 2012 album 190 Proof opens with its title track, which loops big, distorted, ZZ Top–inspired riffs over bottom-heavy beats and handclaps as singer/guitar player Brian “Rooster” King and Clay “Uncle Snap” Sharpe successfully reinvent the drinking song. Some slide guitar and twangy distortion recall Kid Rock in the following “Drinks Up.” Interspersed with comedy, The Lacs’ sophomore album also boasts impressive guest appearances. The hard-grooving “Shake It” is a nightclub anthem that features a cameo by Big & Rich, while “Wylin” provides another bachelor-party soundtrack with Bubba Sparxxx on the mic.
