iTunes Review

After two albums consisting of just acoustic guitar and vocals, Elliott Smith expanded his sonic palette for Either/Or. Gentle percussion, fluttering keyboards, and sturdy bass notes bring these songs to life, but their lo-fi production keeps the proceedings intimate—sometimes heartbreakingly so. With its jaunty beat, "Speed Trials" has what counts for pep in Smith's universe, but "Between the Bars," an acoustic meditation on the perils of booze, is one of the troubled troubadour's most haunting tunes.

Great Album

Elliott Smith is my favourite artist of all time, his lyrics and musical talent are inspiring. Either/Or is a great album that includes two fan favourites, Angeles and Between the Bars. Two great songs on a great album. Not as greatly put together as some of his other works, but still one to get for any Smith fan.
