Magic Hour(s and hours and hours on end)

I really hope this album gets the attention it deserves. SS serve up everything you could ask for. Let's break it down; Anthemic Late-Night Ballads? Check. (Somewhere, Only the Horses) Ribald Strutty dancefloor jives? Check. (Keep Your Shoes, Let's Have a Kiki) Sensual Synthy Serenades? Check. (Self Control, Inevitable). You can count on everything we've all come to love about Scissor Sisters; unapologetic, fun and brazen while taking stabs at some more adventurous stuff (Shears even raps for god's sake). There's the campy fun of "Ta-Dah" mixed in with the more adult vibe we got from "Night Work". There's no shortage of "summer albums" that get thrown at you in late spring but this release promises one hell of a good time...
On and the remixes are ACTUALLY good, You think you like Shady Love the first time you play it, just wait till Tommie Sunshine and Disco Fries "flip that over and grill it up again". (Not to mention all the extras packed in to this Deluxe version.)
Thank you Scissor Sisters

A genre- and gender-defying mix of rock, pop, and dance inspired by burlesque, drag queens, and glam rock, New York's Scissor Sisters made a splash in late 2003/early 2004 with their neon-bright reimagining of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," the B-side to the band's first single, "Electrobix." The song made quite a name for the band, which featured singers Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, keyboardist/bassist Babydaddy, guitarists Del Marquis and Derek G, and drummer Paddy Boom: along with becoming...
