Album Review

If IDM is meant for coming down after a night of dancing to trance or house, then Fahrenheit Fair Enough is surely the sort of ambient bliss suited for bedtime. These electronic pieces are big on heavenly synth tones, while light breakbeats (augmented by computerized blips) sputter around below. The acoustic guitar on "John Thomas on the Inside Is Nothing but Foam" lends a refreshing organic element to the mix, fitting comfortably within the breakbeats. Fahrenheit Fair Enough borders on IDM and drum'n'bass at times but, for the most part, it's a soothing listen and one that'll bring you down gently.

Absolutely brilliant and mellow

This album is bar none my favorite album to listen to when I'm stressed and need to cool out. Without fail, listening to this album makes me feel better. I could go on and on about it's lush synths and chilled out beats, and how it's a brilliant pastiche of textures, but frankly, the reason I love this album is because there's something in here that's just good for your soul. It's the same sort of feeling I get from listening to Billie Holiday or Aretha Franklin, in terms of just pure feel good music, although it's an album that demands more of a solitary listening experience than any of those other artists. Definitely check it out if you're looking for some chilled out music.

Very Ambient Electro

Listening to this in my early years, hope to recommend it for years to come.

This was just less than two weeks after the limited Midwest opening of New Port South, a film written by Hughes' brother James that featured material from the album, in addition to recordings by John Hughes III's TTA-assisted...
