iTunes Review

This album is Mastered for iTunes. For The Sheepdogs’ third studio album, the heralded Saskatoon-based swamp/garage rock quartet recruited bespectacled Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney to co-produce. Mixed by Tchad Blake (Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello), it’s an inspired coming-together of similarly spirited collaborators. The deluxe version of this self-titled release includes acoustic versions of two of the new numbers and a music video for the hypnotically charismatic “The Way It Is.”

The greatest album to ever tickle my ear drums

Listening to this album is like eating perfectly cooked bacon with Morgan Freeman while driving a Lambourghini Gallardo at top speed, only to be greeted by Victoria Secret models at the finish.

Another Winner!

Such a great band. We're sorry for Bieber, but your welcome for The Sheepdogs.

Not so good!

I own the Sheepdogs first three albums and I love all of them. I was excited to hear their 4th effort and gave it a listen as soon as it was out.

The album was produced by Patrick Carney of the black keys. What a mistake. The songs are well written and somewhere in there I hear some Sheepdoggery but unfortunately the production totally misses the mark. The songs sound awkward at best. It sounds like a bad Black Keys album.

Not sure what all the rave reviews are about. Maybe you guys should give "Learn and Burn" a good listen and then try the new dogs album again. It fails in comparison. Not saying a band shouldn't evolve, just not like this. I guess if you like over produced music made for the masses, or if you're in the mood for another totally overrated Black Keys album, this one could be for you. For me, I wish it could have lived up to my expectations.

Built on the solid, classic rock foundation of three-part harmonies and dual guitar leads, Canada's the Sheepdogs blend Southern boogie rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock & roll revival.
