iTunes Review

Nightmares On Wax's early bleep-techno releases helped set the futuristic tone of the U.K.'s Warp label. But with 1999's Carboot Soul, he eased into the coziest kind of nostalgia. Named in homage to secondhand-record dealers, his third album is a crate-digger's delight, full of head-nodding breakbeats, muted horns, drowsy Rhodes riffs, and moody funk basslines. Strings and acoustic guitars carry echoes of British folk music, while Sarah Winton's hazy vocals lend whispered intimacy to the softly lit proceedings.

Customer Reviews

One of the best chill soul/funk albums ever. Not a single dog on the album. Must have.

Layered happiness

If you like Lemon Jelly, The Weathertunes go for it. All of it works together so just download the entire collection, you won't be sorry. Works while you drive, paint, read, enjoy another's company, drink out on the deck. Great to listen to while getting ready to go out, as it puts you in a good mood, thus its comparison to LJ. Get it.
