Much better than Unia

Sonata Arctica will no longer make a fast pace speed metal type album. Tonny Kakko wants to explore different styles and feelings. Don't get me wrong, I really love songs like the Cage and Wolf&Raven but he wants to go places that other bands didn't touch and I'm okay with that. We saw a change in writing style with some of the songs on Reckening Night (ex.White Pearl, Black Oceans) and particularly with Unia. I feel than Unia the whole band are searching for something new without really finding their own identity. On this album, the songs blend better together and the most abitious and non-conventional songs might be some of their best songs ever. It is impossible not to best captured with Juliet, wich is for me a masterpiece of song writing. So much emotion and changes within the song. One of my favorite songs of all time. Deathaura is also very good. And for the old time listneners, I'm sure they will love The Last amazing Grays and Flag in the Ground. I don't know what their next studio album will be like but I like the direction this album is bringing us and when I want to listen to typical speed metal, I just listen to their older albums.

Not a big fan of the new album to be honest. It seems really upbeat and not metal. One or two of the songs of the album are good, but the rest of it is kind of meh. Hope the next album will be better...

This album was every bit amazing as I expected it to be. I'm thoroughly impressed with it! Amazing music, incredible vocals..Sonata Arctica has yet to disappoint me. Keep it coming!
