iTunes Review

Vocalist and celebrity Chris Brown follows 2011's F.A.M.E. with Fortune, bringing a refocused dance-floor finesse to this album, adding techno-inspired intensity to songs like "Turn Up the Music" and "Don't Wake Me Up," as well as a serious dubstep heaviness to tracks like "Bassline." This direction works well for Brown, as he's got the right melismatic tone to float above these DJ-friendly cuts.

Less Than Amazing

Most of the negative reviews Chris Brown gets these days are still focusing on "The Incident" with Rihanna. But putting aside the fact that he's clearly not the greatest human being on the planet, let's just admit it - he's not the greatest musician either. Have I ever been truly moved by his music? Very poor....

....and it sounds like all other music nowadays.

While there was nowhere to go but down, at least in terms of chart positions, the pop-oriented R&B vocalist was only getting started. By the end of the decade, he was one of the biggest active pop stars, with a clutch of Top Ten singles and platinum albums to his...
