Not one of Zimmer's better soundtracks...

'160 BPM', 'God Particle' and 'Black Smoke' stand out for me as the better selections on this album but I can't help but think some of the themes used in these tracks could've been expanded on considerably. Namely 'God Particle' which has a superb opening but a rather inconsistent follow through. It seems a jumble of themes whereas '160 BPM' and 'Black Smoke' are indeed consistent for the most part. Still not as good as Zimmer's score to the DaVinci Code or his most recent outing with the Dark Knight.

Progression of a Maestro

Hans Zimmer has established himself as one of the greatest music composer for film-scoring of the late 20th and 21st century. The soundtrack albums that he has produced and composed have never disappointed me. You can hear the progression of his music style, just like listening to any popular-&-long-lasting rock or pop music group like U2 growing from their early sounds to nowadays addictive tunes. This score represent another phase of his music-style. I just hope that he never retires!

Can't do anything better concidering the movie itself

We have to remember that a soundtrack is 95% of the time made after the movie, by the way i own every single album of Hans Zimmer along their movies, given the rythm of the movie and its context, too elaborated song would have been inapropriate, it would have felt that the music would take over the suspense, like twice in the new Star Trek,i wrote a review about that too, but if you compare this to Dark Knight, you simply can't, it's a totally different context.I would'nt have any other score for this movie than this one. It's an album you have to listen from start to finish to totaly catch its essence.
