Entirely surprised this is only the second review

I don't write reviews. Ever. You're likely a smart person. You know what you like. Still when I noticed this record hadn't even received enough reviews to display an average, I was appalled. No joke. I had to take a moment to decide if this was the crime of the century...... The verdict was yes. It was the crime of the century. Did everyone miss this early 2011 gem? I'm not saying this is the new "Abbey Road" or anything, but this album sparkles. Listen to it, and take the time to rate it. My guess is it comes back 5 stars. If it doesn't listen to it again. If it still doesn't, well... what to say. This is edgy, refined, rock, influenced by tradition with a modern touch.

Brilliant song writting

When I stumbled on "The Devil Takes Care of His Own" I was floored. Quickly lead me to this first album. This trio craft songs that are truly locked into essence of rock and roll. The guitar and bass step in time to great beats that really bring you back to the late 60s and early 70s but also somehow are current to the second decade of this century. Truly inspirational and I am eagerly awaiting the release of the next album. If you haven't given Band of Skulls a listen, and you love basic rock and great song lyrics give this album a listen. Great work!

Absolutely, my new favorite band!! It's very rare to find an album that you like every single song on, and they certainly are a rarity

The gritty English trio Band of Skulls craft bluesy and ballsy slabs of atmospheric indie rock that echo the work of contemporaries like the Kills, Duke Spirit, and the Black Keys. Formed by Russell Marsden (guitar and vocals), Emma Richardson (bass and vocals), and Matt Hayward (drums) while attending college in the city of Southampton, the band (which was originally called Fleeing New York) recorded a buzz-worthy demo in 2008, which resulted in its full-length debut album, Baby Darling Doll Face...
