This album really speaks to me. There's an optimistic ray of sun to her melancholy tunes that always knocks me over when I put her songs on. The melodies are amazing and her loving sense of humour towards life is touching. I also get to improve my French while I am at it!
I heard her first song in a Lé Chateau. I fell in love with her instantly. I was like, "Anyone here speak French!? This is important!" I got the title of the song, bought the album and will never look back.
I would not have thought I would have enjoyed this album nearly as much as I did. I heard one of the songs on the radio and when I bought the CD, it has now become one of my favorites. Unbelievably enjoyable. It will be played often and loudly.
About Andrea Lindsay
Compared to the likes of Vanessa Paradis and Petula Clark, Ontario chanteuse Andrea Lindsay first came to attention as one half of early-2000s English-language Canadian duo Tuesday 5 alongside Jennifer Bacchet. After their split, she was compelled to sing in French in her solo career, and following her 2006 debut LP, La Belle Etoile. She won a Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year with her 2009 sophomore effort Les Sentinelles Dormant. ~ Jon O'Brien
