Album Review

Vocal quintet El Consorcio, founded by ex-members of Mocedades, performs live 23 selections from the immensely popular repertoire associated with both ensembles. The songs, about half of them penned by Juan Carlos Calderón, span the four decades since Mocedades' debut in 1969, and include such staples as "Dónde Estás Corazón" or "La Otra España." Recorded on November 2009 at the Teatro Nacional de San José, Costa Rica, with the Costa Rica Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marvin Araya. The special edition comes with a deluxe photo book.

Spanish vocal group El Consorcio was formed in 1993 by ex-Mocedades Amaya, Estíbaliz, and Iñaki Uranga, along with Sergio Blanco and Carlos Zubiaga. Performing songs inspired by everyday life and love, El Consorcio's first album, called Lo Que Núnca Muere, was produced in 1993 by Rosa León and followed by 1995's Peticiones del Oyente and 1996's Programa Doble.
