Deviations Project - Incredible!

I stumbled upon the music of Deviations Project quite by accident, and was hooked right away by the big, full sound, the unusal renditions of the classics, and above all, the obvious tongue in cheek humor! It was only after the initial "woohoo" was over that I really began to listen to the music, and I was, and remain, truly stunned by the beautiful arrangements of Dave Williams, and the incredible bowman-ship of Oliver Lewis.

Tracks such as "Really Big Swans" (Tchaikovsky's "Little Swans") caught my attention on first listen, but it was the beautifully crafted pieces such as "The List" (Theme from Schindler's List), the slick and sophisticated "Barking" ("Presto" from Bach's Sonata No.1 in G Minor) that truly made me fall in love with Deviations Project. The two selections from "Carmen" (the maniacal "The Car Men" and "Tootin' Carmen") really allow Oliver Lewis to showcase his incredible speed and accuracy.

But perhaps the nicest surprise of all, was finding that three of the tracks were original compositions from Dave Williams. "She Too" was love at first listen, and "Toccata in Fog" and "Nuclear" really do hold their own agains the masters!

This album is without doubt, one of the most enjoyable I have bought in quite some time.

Glad I found you.

This album was recommended to me by my daughter. She pretty well knows my taste in music (which is pretty broad). Although I must admit some of the modern electronic stuff leaves me cold, I have to say that after listening to the first track my interest was aroused. By the end of the last track I was really impressed and a fan. I wanted to know more about them. The music had something for all tastes. Can't wait to hear their next release. Keep up the good work Deviations Project.
