It all sounds the same
Sorry, but this album just does nothing for me. All of the songs follow the same formula. Drum machine and happy go lucky synthesizer. No imagination was expended in the writing of these songs. I suppose this album will do well for workout music and in the clubs. I can’t imagine sitting down and seriously listening to it for any length of time, though.
Keep it up tiesto ! Im your #1 fan since Im 8years old ! Hope to see you in montreal soon !!
The album is OK to listen, but where is inspired, innovative and deeply emotional sound we got to expect from Tiesto? Becoming one of the main entertainers also implies that one would go after mainstream, but many (including Tiesto) already proved that this can be done and still preserve one's soul. Yes, there are still some of the characteristic sounds, build ups and transitions, but these are more mechanical, by-the-numbers arrangements. While I like having a few hits on an album, I also like the balance that we usually get with Tiesto's deeper and deeply intimate numbers on the same album. After a few listen-throughs, I haven't found that balance in this album. The songs are mostly of a type "you love me - I love you", "if you just loved me", "we are rebels (or we would really like to be ones)" and while having pop/love songs is not bad on its own, these don't sound authentic. Overall, it is fair to say that there are a few good moments, but overall Tiesto would probably need to take some time and look into himself before making a new one.
