Awesome CD

Audioslaves debut album is one of my favorites. I can listen to the CD from start to finish and enjoy every song. If you let go of RATM and Soundgarden you can sit back and rock to this CD. This is the best release of their's bar none.

Audioslave is pure rock & roll, they were a truely unique band, although Chris Cornell's vocals are not as profound as in Audioslave's other two albums he does set a new bar for himself and coupled with Tom Morello's insane space age electric guitar sounds this band launched themselves to success and well earned fame. With some hardcore rock/medal songs like "Cochise" & "Light My Way" mixed with some smooth rolling rock songs like "Shadow on the Sun" & "I am the Highway" this album is truely unique.

Superb debut

One of my all time favorite bands even thought they were only around for a short time. Songs like 'I am the Highway', 'Show Me How to Live', and especially 'Like a Sone' make this album worth the purchase alone. Even though the band is made up of members of RATM and Soundgarden, Audioslave sounds like neither of these bands, they're better. For my money they are/were the best band of the new millennium and it's a shame they aren't together anymore. Like any album some songs are stronger than others but this is one album where you can listen to the whole thing without having to skip a song because it's terrible. Very highly recommended.

Within months rumors flew that ex-Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell would replace de la Rocha. And gossip fueled truth, for Cornell joined the rest of Rage in the studio in May 2001. The mix was great and a musical bond was in the making: Cornell, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, and Tom Morello spent the next year writing and recording. By spring 2002, the foursome were no longer going by the...
