Keep Getting Better

This band keeps getting better. I saw them four years ago at Warped Tour in Vancouver and they blew me away. The lead singer has an incredible voice, great personality, and is a tremendous bass player. The one problem was they had a low-quality demo out at the time, which left much to be desired. They later released their debut full-length, which, while having some very catchy tunes, didn't sound quite right. This new album captures their live performance a lot better with punchy guitar and drums, deep sounding bass, and--the most important thing--outstanding vocals. This is a must-have if you're fan of catchy punch-rock.

The stylized pop/rock of Maxeen draws heavily from the sounds of the '80s, most notably the Police and Pixies. The trio came together in mid-2002 in Los Angeles when singer/bassist Tom Bailey (who had mostly grown up in Akron, OH) returned to California, his state of birth.
