iTunes Review

Maroon 5 is a pop-rock band and proud of it. On Overexposed, it embraces the genre's versatility, collaborating with artists from a broad spectrum of sounds. Pittsburgh’s hometown hero Wiz Khalifa raps about envious scrubs who hate on his success—a stark contrast to Adam Levine’s romantic take on the idea of ringing up the object of his desire on “Payphone.” Maroon 5 also joins forces with Max Martin, Benny Blanco, and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder.

where did Maroon5 go?

It is a good album, but it feels like Maroon5 has abandoned their more rock roots in order to appeal more to the masses. They were a fantastic band. Now they are just like every other group out there just trying to write music that people will buy. There's no heart behind the songs. I miss the days of "she will be loved".

What happened?

This is a huge disappointment for me. I miss the old Maroon 5 with the adult rock HEARTFELT music that they used to write.
Now when I hear their new songs on the radio, I always have to change the station because it upsets me to hear how much their music
has changed. Please Maroon 5 go back to your old ways of making albums like Songs About Jane. And what's with all the cursing in the album?
I don't that they need to curse in their songs to sell. We all know that they're already great artists :)

OMG

if you don't think this is the best album of the 21st century, there is something very wrong with you. Love EVERY SONG!!!! Amazing, especially One More Night, Daylight, Lucky Strike, The Man Who Never Lied, Love Somebody, Sad, Tickets, Doin Dirt, Beautiful Goodbye and Wipe Your Eyes!!!

A mix of polished pop/rock and neo-soul made Maroon 5 one of the most popular bands of the new millennium, with songs like "This Love," "She Will Be Loved," and "Makes Me Wonder" all topping the charts worldwide. Previously, bandmates Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards), Mickey Madden (bass), and Ryan Dusick (drums) had spent the latter half of the '90s playing in Kara's Flowers, even releasing a debut album for Reprise Records while still attending high school. The record tanked,...
