Music for Warriors?

Although not a particularly unique collection of Mozart, it covers the bases. The combined forces of several record companies do well with a polished and quality sound in most regards. For any listener that has half a brain, this music is a starter collection for Mozart... but just the beginning. I don't know what type of music Warriors tend to listen to, but Bob, just because you don't like listening to classical music all day doesn't mean that there aren't people out there who actually make Mozart an event, celebrate his 250th birthday (which is actually today) and enjoy the stuff. Mozart also has proven to have effects on cognitive development among other things, so if you want music that boosts your intelligence, well this is a good starter set.

Stuck In A Rut...

I find it always weird when something like this is released, such a broad look at Mozarts music and yet still defining itself as a greatest hits. Serious listeners won't really want this set, because they most likely own all of the music or atleast a great majority plus other works. But the average listener won't really want this either because there's way too much to deal with, clocking in at over 250 songs, "Best Of" buyers only want "The Best 20 Tracks" when they're just getting into an artist. You can buy sets of music by work, which is great for someone who just wants a little bit, but unfortuntely, most casual listeners don't know their favourite classical song by it's full name making it hard for them to shop for the appropriate music. In the end, it's a definitive set, with A LOT of music to choose from, but who knows, maybe it's just a little too much...

mozart 250

yes it is a little bit much, and not too unique but what were you expecting, it is good as it bases for the people that dont know classical music but would like too. also in repsonse to the other reviewer mozart has not been "proven to improve cognitive development". the only study to show remotely that was done by shaw and colleagues called the "mozart effect" and this was only for his sonata for two pianos in D major; and again it was not for cognitive developmetn but for spatial reasoning. subsequent studies have all showed no effect or differance between groups, so this "mozart effect" has become a modern day psuedoscience, and i would not sugest buying this album simply because of that. but however,if you already like mozart or would like to its good start. however, it is very pricey, most mozart you can find for much less, you will have a more rounded collection that way as well.
