it's okay.

only enjoyed two songs, 'lesson learned' and 'feel like taking you home'. the rest sound generic. not the best lyric work, I'm sad to say. where are the songs that were on his myspace, like playdown ?

Solid Record, better than his last.

mr. Benson is a dependable source of smart classicist pop. This LP is more of that, with a bit of a sonic expansion, ie strings on the wonderfully Motownesque "garbage day". the record is superior to it's predecessor, "the alternative to love", which got rather indistinct in its middle. The Average number on "friend" makes more of an impression, with particular notice to the Macca clone tunes "eyes..." and "gonowhere". lyrics are clever yet not void of meaning. (to the last reviewer: Playdown was a cover of a 1966 BeeGees B-side)

A whole lot better

A whole lot better is a great song, well worth the download. I just
Discovered this band now and I'm really impressed. Good job!
