Album Review

Flaw is one of the few groups to eschew post-grunge à la Creed and modern-day rap-metal, preferring to instead play straightforward metallic rock that relies less upon gimmickry and more on musical prowess and aggression, making the group peers of latter-day Metallica and Staind. Vocalist Chris Volz's powerful and melodious singing voice leads almost all of the tracks, with solid yet unspectacular guitars and rhythms layered underneath his emotive voice. When he screams, though, it's as if he feels obligated to try, and a few catchy tracks — such as the lead single, "Payback," and the eerie "My Letter" — are surrounded by filler that fails to stick. ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi

Better than what you expect

After listening to this album a few times through all i can say is. WOW! Alot of people are gonna be checking out this band after hearing the track get up again off the UFC video game. Which is probably why youre here. Well let me say that there is alot more to offer on this album than that one track(although it is one of its strong points). Dont be fooled by the ITUNES review above, cause this album has hit after hit with only a few skipable tracks. The band has a way of blending strong aggresive vocals with melodic choruses better than most bands out there, which makes it a true shame this band is no longer together. The album also does a good job of feeding the mood that your in. From brooding slower songs like "my letter", "What I have to do" and the epic closer One more time". To furious adrenaline fuled tracks like "Payback" and "Scheme". This is definately one of the best bands Ive discovered this year, and easily the Best album Ive bought off ITUNES. At the end of the day this band hits all the right notes and gives you a great experience which will be better than you expected.
