iTunes Review

It was a whisper that turned into a scream, a tipping point in rock ‘n’ roll history. Nevermind — Nirvana’s sculpted symphony of reckless guitar, bass, and drums nailgunned to some of the most oblique yet thoughtful lyrics of all time — awoke a generation of latchkey kids gorged on broken promises and ushered in the alt-rock nation. “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Come As You Are,” “In Bloom,” “Lithium,” and “Breed” are corrosive anthems that ignited a movement, slammed shut a decade of excess, and catapulted the underground into the mainstream. On its 20th anniversary, Nevermind is remembered with a super deluxe edition, with previously unheard rehearsals, B-sides, alternate mixes, and live recordings.

All the songs are here but...

No sleeve on any way to tell which version is which of any of the songs. All you have is disc and track number to go by with no more description on the track names.

Excellent 3 on 4 CDs.. still 5 stars

There's not a lot of expectations for an hardcore fan i used to be when i was teen, they put and balance the good b-sides things: Sappy (studio 1991- nothing was found on the bootleg at that quality)... Paramount concert is awsome, nice to have on CD, remastered not "bootleging", there's just a big disapointment : Devonshire mix - Anyone who had listening the album over 2000 times won't find a huge difference with the orginals songs - just less quality or maybe less polish. If that Devonshire would put something more raw like "In Utero"... only remove the reverb or treble.. that would be something else....

The rest is just : my masterpiece of all time

Prior to Nirvana, alternative music was consigned to specialty sections of record stores, and major labels considered it to be, at the very most, a tax write-off. After the band's second album, 1991's Nevermind, nothing was ever quite the same, for better and for worse. Nirvana popularized punk, post-punk, and indie rock, unintentionally bringing them into the American mainstream like no other band to date. While their sound was equal parts Black Sabbath (as learned by fellow Washington underground...
