iTunes Review

Ray of Light was both a comeback for Madonna and a sign of dance music’s impending claim to the pop throne. Her voice is impeccable throughout, but it's the album's slinky, rich dance-floor atmospherics that really set things in a new direction, with producer William Orbit giving the trip-hoppy “Frozen” a lush, dramatic feel and the title track its giddy euphoria. There's also a prevalent hypnotic and spiritual vibe— owing to Madonna's turn to Kabbalah—that helps make it one of the superstar's most exciting albums in years.

Best Concept, Best Album

I said the sound wasn't good, so THANK YOU FOR THE RE-RECORDING!!!! old message: Yeah... but itunes workers, it would be so much more cool if you re.record the album because the sound is not so good, boring because this is one of the best albums of the 1990's...

a great album..but will not buy it from iTunes as it is just a partial album...what is this 'partial album' stuff iTunes does????

One of the best albums of the 90's

This has to be one of Madonna's finest albums. Every track is a great piece of work showing just how skillful the Queen of Pop is at composing music... and how she earned her title. This isn't a dance album like most of her work, however, it has many wounderful ballads which have a slow techno beat to them. You will not be disappointed.

After stars reach a certain point, it's easy to forget what they became famous for and concentrate solely on their personas. Madonna is such a star. She rocketed to stardom so quickly in 1984 that it obscured most of her musical virtues. Appreciating her music became even more difficult as the decade wore on, as discussing her lifestyle became more common. However, one of Madonna's greatest achievements is how she has manipulated the media and the public with her music, her videos, her publicity,...
