Album Review

Swedish metalcore band Amaranthe's 2011 debut showcased their inspired mix of melodic pop, harsh grinding guitar, and synth-based heavy metal. Included here are the singles "Hunger," "Rain," "Amaranthine," and "1,000,000 Lightyears."

Customer Reviews

The future of metal?

I was amazed when I heard about Amaranthe.

They blend different metal genres perfectly. Their music range from technical melodic thrash metal (Soilwork is a strong reference here) to melodic/power metal. Their songs are beautifully crafted with very, very catchy melodies and a simple and effective song structure. This record is powerful, melodic, heavy and to a certain degree, innovative.

Production is amazing. Perhaps a little bit too loud, but probably no band is free of the curse of "volume wars", specially in the metal/pop scene.

Energy and power

Worth buying, especially the tracks, Hunger, Call out my name and
Automatic.
