A surprising soundtrack! Marc Streitenfeld captures the sounds of the middle ages in beautiful orchestrated themes. Some of the tracks like: Robin speaks, Planting the fields, Fate has smiled upon us and Merry men simply achieve greatness. This is a great addition to the film, if you loved the movie you will love the soundtrack, it's not excellent, but it does achieve a sense of awe in some of the tracks.
This is really dissapointing. Alan-a-Dale is played Alan Doyle, the lead singer of Great Big Sea in this movie. He has 2 or 3 singing parts in the movie and none them are on the sound track. I told my wife when we left the movie I would like the sound track but apparently I don't.
Love it but . . .
I absolutely adore this score. It immediately became one of my faves and I listen to it all the time, which has the (un)fortunate effect of making we want to go see the movie repeatedly. My only complaint is that none of the Alan Doyle songs were included. Why? Why use the wonderfully talented Mr. Doyle, who's songs addded so much to the movie, and then not include them on the soundtrack. I hold out hope for some sort of additional or itunes release but in the meantime I just keep listening to the score. Highly recommend.
