Editors’ Notes

Songs like the exuberant “Colours” and “Tongue Tied” are full of imagined, emphatic exclamation marks and body language (arm-waving, heart-clutching), and the band masters the dropping of a raucous, rousing chorus to a whisper in a millisecond. This smart group uses simple song architecture and hugely catchy choruses as an armature, layering on its clattering, colorful instrumental and vocal outpourings with abandon.

is it the new Foster the People? They have the same energy and stuff.

A Great New Find

I've never left an album review anywhere before, but this band is great and I want to get the word out. They deserve the attention and I want others to feel the joy of making this discovery for themselves, just as I did. I saw them perform Colours on Conan last night. The song was great and they gave a fun, energetic performance of it. So I bought the album, and am very glad I did. They remind me of Mates of State - both groups have the male-and-female-vocalist thing going on, and I find both bands' music to be joyus, energetic and upbeat, in an indie-folk kind of way. Very good stuff - check it out.

Must buy !!!! Do not hesitate !!!

I have listened to this album 3x start to finish and it doesn't stop amazing me!
Enough with the Foster the People comparisons, Grouplove is its own glorious entity!
Obviously Apple has someone intelligent up stairs in the music direction department of marketing, this album is so much more than a quick jingle of a flickering commercial in the background. This band surely deserves the attention that ad will bring them!
This album is infectious and addicting, such a glorious breath of fresh air in the ever current musical landscape.
If you must have a comparison I would have to say this band is what would happen if The Flaming Lips, Built to Spill, The Pixies and The Silversun Pickups all group hugged until they imploded into one amazing unit of sonic happiness!
I bought the EP too, this band is that good.
This album should and will be at the top of iTunes picks. Support them and get them back into the studio!
Congratulations Grouplove, I am so looking forward to you blowing up and affecting others with your music as you of I.
I'm going to play you for everyone that crosses my path!

Standing firmly on the middle ground between the quirky staccato attack of Modest Mouse and the spirited arena-ready roar of Arcade Fire, Los Angeles-based indie rock outfit Grouplove came to fruition in the late 2000s around the talents of Hannah Hooper, Christian Zucconi, Sean Gadd, Ryan Rabin, and Andrew Wessen. New Yorkers Hooper and Zucconi, through sheer kismet, forged a friendship with the latter three members while attending an art residency in Greece on the island of Crete. Before returning...
