iTunes Review

Even if we never saw the movie, we might guess from the soundtrack that Juno is a quirky comedy about teen pregnancy. Where else would we hear all these goofy, kid-friendly songs by The Moldy Peaches' Kimya Dawson, Sonic Youth gently rocking the Carpenters, and two of the only songs by Cat Power and The Velvet Underground that could qualify as lullabies? As for the heavier Kinks and Mott the Hoople classics, even moms-to-be have to rock out sometimes.

You can be in a film too!

This is one of those soundtracks that makes you feel like you are right in the film. All you need is a big old car, a warm summer day, your lover, and this soundtrack. Just drive, listen, and you have yourself a little film. Beautiful.

Cute; But Gets Old Fast

Juno is a terrific movie. If you haven't seen it, do so now. The script is great but it's Ellen Page who sells the movie. She's my favorite actress in Holywood today. The music fits the film perfect. Unfortunetely, outside of the film, the music falls short. Kimya Dawson and The Moldy Peaches are cute at first but their songs get old - fast. Sonic Youth's song is pretty bad, and I never liked Buddy Holly's voice. It really annoys me. On the other hand, Cat Power gives a beautiful performance in "Sea of Love," and "All The Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople is very heart-warming. "Expectations" is another great song. But, the replay value is really poor. It'll be a nice experience once or twice, but after that I doubt you'll want to re-listen to them. At least, for a long time. So I'll be generous and give the soundtrack a 3 out of 5, just because it's a really good fit for the amazing movie.

It's Very Refreshing!

It's not often a movie and soundtrack blow you away, but this is one of those times. Brilliant movie, perfect soundtrack. I would watch the movie over and over and ditto on listening to the soundtrack. Better than chocolate and peanut butter!
