Hands down, this is one of the most CLASSIC thrash metal albums of all time. More attitude and adrenaline than Metallica. This is straight-up THRASH, but there's a Punk Rock vibe in places that just can't be faked. They didn't take themselves as seriously as Slayer but they were no less menacing. The music is driven by some kick-a*s guitar riffs - as all good Metal should be. Hard, mean and FAST is what that's all about and the rest of the band was on point too. The vocals stood up large on their own: A combination of good range along with good recoding techniques. Gut-busting growls punctuated by some classic shrieking that really helped cement Razor's sound. The lyrics were degenerate, metalhead BS but somehow, they took it a little further. The drums definitely shine here as well. Full-on, unrelenting PUMMELING that hits you between the eyes and jacks the energy thru the roof. But there was more than just pounding furiousity. There was a feel - an attitude - that would lay back, swagger and DARE you to think it might let up before kicking you in the a*s again. "Evil Invaders" was also fairly well recorded and still sounds good to this day. Again, nothing fancy but you can hear them riding the mixer and there are some really nice, understated studio effects and ear candy that help to tie it all together. So much greater than the sum of it's parts! While Razor never got the got the same sort of burn that Slayer, Exodus and Metallica did, they were second fiddle to NOBODY. "Evil Invaders" sits up there proudly with the best of the best!

Straight ahead, in yer face thrash.

I remember buying this on cassette when it came out in '85 - totally blew me away with the speed and intensity. Nice to find this one again, and enjoy it just as much, if not more, twenty seven freaking years later! Everything else that needs saying is covered under openconcept's review.
