Customer Reviews

One of the best kept secrets in Canadian music.

Part of me wonders why this woman hasn't topped the Canadian charts yet, because this is a fabulous album (and so is her next one, Thumbelina's One Night Stand). "Good As Gold" (which shows up as "White Lies" on iTunes for some reason), "White Lies" (which shows up as "Pretty Blue" on iTunes), "Factory", and "Little Birds" all handle suburban lifestyle and attitudes very effectively. "Glimpse Into Hell" goes into a brief but intriguing commentary on religion's place in suburban life, while "Encinitas Rainstorm" has a fabulous instrumental part to go along with the cheeky, youthful lyrics. However, I think the standout track on this album is "Picture Postcard", the story of two teenage runaways desperate to escape their current state of existence. The message is by no means one you'd see in a fairy tale, but it's an important one - that every decision you make comes with consequences that you have to live with. In short, this is a well put together album that vividly describes suburban life and love.

Excellent Album

Nice acoustics, great lyrics, smooth effortless voice and great energy. Excellent from start to finish. No question that this is an album to buy.
