Editors’ Notes

The critically acclaimed British metalcore unit's second record, Suicide Season, released in 2008, delivers on all fronts demanded by the genre – high-speed death-metal guitars with hardcore mosh breakdowns, infernal wraith-screech vocals, hyper-active double-bass drumming and a hint of melody. Decidedly more in line with commercial mores than the band's debut, Count Your Blessings, the album is by no means watered down. For starters, it was recorded in a Swedish village, a fitting decision for a band so clearly influenced by the melodic death-metal scene of Gothenburg, Sweden (especially At the Gates). The closing title cut is as heavy as metalcore gets and "It Was Written In Blood," based on the suicide note/final poem of Russian poet Sergei Yesenin, has become one of the band's signature songs. "Football Season Is Over," with old- school guitar moves and a bus-flipping chorus learned directly from the Beasties' Licensed To Ill, is another great moment.

A move onto the post-hardcore side for Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon, being the classic, yet cliche UK death core band decided to take a different approach with their new album. Powerful breakdowns, less low screams, more of a yelling approach instead of a screaming makes it so much more different. Very well written guitar lines, solid drum beats, And powerful vocals make Bring Me The Horizons, Suicide Season a pleasent change from their old style, yet still not perfected, Bring Me The Horizon has improved.

there best cd yet new sound is amazing with amazing breakdowns even though i got this off a torrrent (because it didnt come out till 2 days later) get this album there the best metal band by far

Fronted by a tattooed clothing designer and influenced by death metal, grindcore, and emo, Bring Me the Horizon aren't the average deathcore band. The group was formed in 2004 from the ashes of several Sheffield-based outfits, with the 2003 Disney film Pirates of the Caribbean serving as the inspiration for the band's name. Singer Oliver Sykes, guitarists Lee Malia and Curtis Ward, bassist Matt Kean, and drummer Matt Nicholls initially established their own label, Thirty Days of Night, to release...
