so emotional. (L)

when i listened to terrible things, i honestly cried. it is a great song and clearly came from the heart. mayday parade may not be liked as much as some pop artists , but the lyrics they write are way better than pop music. we all need to help them get noticed more so their career can really take off!

once again, love this ep, great job guys! (: (L)

Not So Impressed

Go Radio Releasing a CD around the same time , Blew this CD out of the water , Lancaster made mayday , they've turned into a girl slow band , dont get me wrong they still write good music , and terrible things is a very good song i might add , but this doesn't even come close to how good , lucky street was by go radio , keep trying mayday

Back to the good old Mayday (almost)

Solid EP, the two new tracks are great, Amber-Lynn has a nice folksy vibe to it with a good bevy of instruments to add something a little bit different. Terrible Things is phenomenal, one of their best yet I'd say, combining the beauty of Miserable at Best with the power of You Be The Anchor. The other 4 tracks are acoustics of older ones, I particularly liked Your Song and Kids in Love. Your Song was a nice slow piano piece that they really made their own considering it was Lancaster's track. Kids in Love was nice, I always felt it was lyrically better suited for acoustic. Jamie All Over and Bruised & Scarred were so-so, I think Jamie All Over is just too much of a fun song to be mellowed down and I never really liked Bruised & Scarred to begin with. Overall, I'd say Mayday did a great job with this, they seem to have found their path post-Lancaster as I found Anywhere But Here was a bit all over the place. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the next album!

Mayday Parade arose from the merger of two popular Tallahassee local bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment, whose combination helped the emo pop unit amass a quick buzz around its hometown scene. The sextet was initially comprised of vocalist Derek Sanders, vocalist/guitarist Jason Lancaster, bassist/vocalist Jeremy Lenzo, drummer Jake Bundrick, and guitarists Alex Garcia and Brooks Betts. After playing shows on the 2005 Warped Tour, along with sporadic gigs alongside bands like Armor for...
