Album Review

The Feeling return for the fifth time with their 2016 self-titled album The Feeling, which follows 2013's well-received Boy Cried Wolf. The band opted to record this one in just a few days as live band performances, with no click tracks or extensive overdubs, in an effort to better capture the energy of a live gig. The title of the album reflects what the band see as the most important element of their sound, and something that can't be replicated in numerous studio sessions — the feeling.

Drawing heavily from the rich harmonies and melodies of '70s soft rock, British quintet the Feeling includes vocalist/guitarist Dan Gillespie-Sells (previously of Scottish pop/rock act Speedway), bassist Richard Jones, guitarist Kevin Jeremiah, keyboardist Ciaran Jeremiah, and drummer Paul Stewart. Former students of the Brit School of Performing Arts in Croydon, the quintet initially performed as Super Fly, a resident cover band playing at La Tania Ski Resort in the French Alps.
