Album Review

Produced by the same man who recorded the Fray’s first two albums, the self-titled Brendan James is full of pleasant piano pop, with nary an out-of-place note or flubbed chord in attendance. James is a natural assimilator, and both his songwriting and vocal delivery reference the likes of David Gray, James Taylor, and Coldplay. The result is a slick, lush album that splits the difference between adult contemporary and the sort of PG-rated pop that OneRepublic creates, with light electronics and computerized blips-and-bloops adding texture to the mix.

Customer Reviews

It's nice.

It's a nice album, some pretty melodies - "the Fall" is really nice. Brendan has a really nice voice and a good delivery. Nothing stand out but it is nice! Worth the money and the listen, it will have a nice place along with my Sara Slean, Rufus Wainwright and Sarena Ryder.

I love this album, Your Beating Heart is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard :)
The voice of Brendan James is simply magical!

Makes me want to wake up in the morning

"Get it Right" is very inspiring, Brendan James says its rather autobiographical of his journey through the music business. This man can lay down down beautiful piano, and has a great voice to go with it. I guarantee you'll wake up craving this song to get you going!
