Another solid set

Freedy Johnston does not get enough credit. He is certainly one of the USA's most under-rated singer/songwriters.

After a long wait for new music, Freedy is back and does not disappoint. The iTunes review pretty much nails it - the songs are very strong and the musicianship is brilliant and well-produced. There is a nice variety of styles and tempos, but for me the strongest songs are the ballads. 'Venus Is Her Name' and 'What You Cannot See, You Cannot Fight' were my highlights.

If you like thoughtful, well-written songcraft this album is for you. Freedy is a pro and has an eye for characters. Please don't wait so long next time!

A great new record...he's back and better than ever!

From the toe-tapping pop-quirkiness of Don't Fall In Love With a Lonely Girl, to the melancholy of the title track the only way he can deliver it, to the masterfully crafted The Other Side of Love, Freedy once again shines as one of the preeminent contemporary singer-songwriters. It's a shame that it's taken this long, but better late than never. A truly great and solid record...hopefully we'll all be able to see him live soon in a town near us.

Johnston was born in 1961 in Kinsley, Kansas, a small town with the odd distinction of being equidistant between New York City and San Francisco. Growing up, Johnston developed a strong interest...
